Late-game gadget guide
What does the Machine do in Scritchy Scratchy?
The Machine is not an early convenience gadget. This focused guide places it in the Final Chance route and explains how to plan around its upgrade and timing boundaries.
The Machine’s late-game role
The developer describes Machine upgrades as improving chances around Final Chance while providing a money boost. That makes the Machine part of late progression, not a replacement for the early Scratch Bot, Fan, or Autobuyer pipeline.
Before investing attention here, make sure the ordinary ticket economy and automation route are understandable. A late-game tool is easier to evaluate when you know which current bottleneck it is meant to address.
Machine and Final Chance
Final Chance is an endgame decision connected to endings and several achievements. The Machine helps prepare that route, but its presence does not remove the need to read the current Final Chance prompt or decide which ending and completion goal the run is pursuing.
Use the Final Chance guide for the Corporation and achievement branches. Exact timing, values, and conditions should be read from the current build rather than copied from an old walkthrough.
Egg Timer does not speed the Machine
The developer’s gadget explanation explicitly excludes the Machine from Egg Timer’s speed effect. Do not include Machine in a general “all gadgets are faster” assumption or treat an unchanged Machine timer as a broken Egg Timer.
This exception also protects planning clarity: use Egg Timer to improve the ordinary gadget chain, and use Machine upgrades to prepare the Final Chance route. They solve different problems even when both appear in the same late progression screen.
Machine planning checklist
Approach the Machine with a specific run objective: a Final Chance ending, a related achievement, or a future Prestige plan. Keep the ordinary reserve healthy and avoid resetting before a planned result has been confirmed.
For the wider upgrade order, read the Prestige and Jack Points guide and the endgame achievements guide. They explain why a late route should be kept separate from a normal beginner run.
