How to play Scritchy Scratchy

Scritchy Scratchy starts as a scratch-card game, then turns into an incremental routing problem. Your goal is to turn manual cash into better tickets, then into gadgets, then into stronger future runs.

Firsthand browser test

Day Job: from a dirty plate to the first $2

Reproduced

Steps performed

  1. Opened the Tickets tab and selected the $1 Day Job entry.
  2. Clicked the dirty plate on the table to enter its close-up view.
  3. Dragged the yellow sponge across the remaining food marks until the plate was clear.
  4. Stopped when the result button appeared and recorded the displayed payout.

Before cleaning: the English demo shows only Day Job at Level 0, with one dirty plate placed on the opening table.
Completed English Day Job plate showing a two dollar reward
Observed result: clearing the plate revealed a $2 claim button. The same result panel displayed a 100% symbol chance for this Level 0 Day Job test.

Verification boundary: this test confirms the English browser-demo opening loop and the values visible in this run. It does not claim that later upgrades, the paid Steam build, or a future balance patch use the same values.

Earn seed cash

Use the Day Job loop to get enough money for early tickets. Do not treat the first minutes as a jackpot hunt; they are about creating a stable base.

Buy readable tickets

Start with tickets you can afford to lose. Scratch manually long enough to learn payout rhythm, penalties, and when a card is too volatile for your current run.

Upgrade consistency

Prioritize upgrades that make the next few tickets easier to fund. A steady route usually beats chasing one expensive, high-risk card too early.

Unlock automation

Scratch Bot, Fan, Sticky Mat, Mundo, Autobuyer, Egg Timer, Spellbook, and the Machine each remove a different kind of friction from the loop.

Prestige deliberately

Reset when permanent progress will make the next run cleaner than continuing the current grind. Jack Points are future-run power, not just a score.

Browser demo controls and loading help

The surrounding page controls the player shell; scratching, buying, claiming, and game menus happen inside the official itch.io demo frame. Click Play, wait for the demo notice, then click inside the frame so it receives pointer focus.

Mouse or touch

Use direct pointer input inside the frame. If nothing responds, check for a game dialog and click once inside the play surface.

Fullscreen and reload

Use the site fullscreen action for a larger surface. If loading stalls, reload this page; the embed URL should not need editing.
