Scritchy Scratchy September challenge update: what is confirmed
Published August 30, 2026 · Updated August 30, 2026
The larger September update has been announced but has not yet received an official launch post. This tracker separates the four confirmed features from dates, rules, and rewards that remain unknown.
Current status on August 30, 2026
The official April roadmap schedules the larger Scritchy Scratchy update for September. As of this source check, the official Steam announcement feed still ends with Patch 1.1 and does not include a release announcement for the challenge update.
A Steam record change dated August 27 is visible in third-party history, but a store metadata change is not proof that a playable content build has shipped. The update should be treated as upcoming until the developer publishes a launch notice or the current game visibly contains the new full-release features.
The four features the roadmap confirms
The roadmap names Challenges, challenge rewards, a new “good” ending, and a special reward for getting all achievements. Those are the only firm content promises in the public announcement.
Challenges previously appeared in the demo, but that does not establish the final number, rules, difficulty, or reward structure for the paid release. The full update needs to be checked on its own terms when it arrives.
- Challenges for the full release.
- Rewards tied to completing those challenges.
- A new “good” ending.
- A special reward for earning every achievement.
What has not been confirmed
The announcement does not provide an exact September release date, a challenge count, challenge conditions, reward names, balance changes, save requirements, or a new achievement count. It also does not promise that Steam, itch.io, iOS, and Android will update at the same moment.
Avoid planning a permanent route around screenshots or demo behavior. Exact instructions should wait for the release notes and a current-build check.
How completion players can prepare safely
Keep a separate backup through the save tools your current build provides, note which achievements and cosmetics are already complete, and avoid deleting a finished save before the all-achievements reward is understood. The save export and import guide explains a conservative backup workflow.
There is no need to grind an invented target or delay ordinary play. Finish goals that are already documented, then recheck the achievement list, Prestige panel, ending route, and Night Market after the official update arrives.
Pages we will recheck after release
The first affected pages will be the Prestige and Jack Points guide, achievement guide, Final Chance guide, and Night Market guide.
This tracker will change from “announced” to “released” only after an official launch source is available. Until then, the dated update log remains the quickest status check.
